H2O2 is one water molecule with one additional oxygen atom. The water molecule is the carrier of the oxygen atom. This causes an oxidizing effect and the substance is rapidly broken down into oxygen and water, without any other emissions.
Paramove® is a Food Grade approved drug for aquaculture parasite treatment (H2O2). The drug is effective against both salmon lice and AGD.
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is decomposed to H2O (water) and O2 (oxygen) upon decomposition, leaving no residual or by-products. H2O2 in concentrate is oxidizing and corrosive, but not toxic. The molecule H2O2 is approved as a drug, for use against salmon lice. There is no retention time when using H2O2, so fish can be slaughtered immediately after treatment. H2O2 is approved by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), without restrictions. The product is also used for treatments against AGD (amoebic gill disease).
H2O2 is naturally occurring in biological processes, found in rainwater / surface water, seawater and many other places. In seawater, H2O2 reacts with organic matter that algae and breaks down rapidly, tidal currents and waves additionally dilute H2O2 to very low concentrations in a short time.
The newly developed dosing method has given a very high efficacy and high fish welfare.
